Lumbar Spine and Pelvis in Physiotherapy Practice – Differential Diagnosis and Treatment of Functional Disorders

Date: November 22–23, 2025

Course content: This course focuses on differential diagnosis and therapeutic strategies for functional disorders of the lumbar spine and pelvic region. Participants will learn to distinguish between discogenic disorders, sacroiliac dysfunction, segmental blockages, facet joint irritation, myofascial tension, pseudo/radicular symptoms, and functional disorders of the hip joint. Emphasis is placed on manual techniques, diagnostic approaches, and functional mobility assessments of the lumbopelvic region. The course includes fascia treatment, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations, and visceral manipulation. The goal is to provide physiotherapists with precise and effective tools to address pain and dysfunction in this region.

● 11:00–12:30 | Theoretical Introduction > Differential diagnosis – pelvic girdle (SI joint, hip joint, pelvis)

● 13:30–15:00 | Practical Session > Functional examination – lumbar spine and pelvis

● 15:00–15:30 | Coffee break

● 15:30–17:00 | Practical Session > Intro to reciprocal inhibition and trigger point treatment (iliopsoas, iliocostalis, gluteal muscles)

● 09:00–10:30 | Practical Session > Fascia treatment – lumbar and pelvic region > Mobilization – pelvis, SI joint, pubic symphysis

● 10:30–11:00 | Coffee break

● 11:00–12:30 | Practical Session > Mobilization – thoracolumbar junction, lumbar spine, lower limb traction

● 12:30–13:30 | Lunch

● 13:30–15:00 | Practical Session > Visceral manipulation – colon, bladder, mesentery

● 15:00–15:30 | Coffee break

● 15:30–17:00 | Basic exercises for lumbopelvic region
