THE CLIENT JOURNEY AT FYZIO KLINIK

Do you want to be free of pain? Recover after an injury or surgery? Change your lifestyle? Improve your sporting performance?

We can help you. Welcome to the journey towards your health, towards a better you.

We do not want to treat our clients, we want to cure them, which is why we think in connections and look for the root of the problem. Discover 360° care for your health.

1. The start of the journey at the FYZIO KLINIK medical centre

FYZIO KLINIK is located near the exit road from Bratislava heading towards Prístavný most bridge, at Mlynské nivy 61/A. You can park directly in front of the building, where we have parking spaces reserved for clients. On arrival you will be welcomed by our friendly staff, and our receptionist will give you a short questionnaire to complete. As soon as you have filled it in, the relevant therapist will come to collect you and your session will begin.

2. Initial consultation with a physiotherapist or doctor

We begin every health issue with a comprehensive examination. This includes a detailed conversation with the therapist or doctor, during which they ask about various circumstances related to your condition, past injuries and operations, any more serious illnesses and diagnoses, illnesses of family members, your occupation, medication, allergies, and in the case of women, any gynaecological problems. The therapist or doctor needs to know all the connections relating to your condition in order to determine a precise and clear diagnosis and a suitable course of therapy.

3. Comprehensive objective examination

After taking your medical history, an objective examination follows, during which the therapist or doctor will assess not only the area that is troubling you, but your entire musculoskeletal system. The physiotherapist examines the client while seated, lying down and walking, noting the smallest details and comparing both sides. If something is unclear, they will invite other specialists to consult on the client’s condition. Please note that this part of the examination is carried out in underwear.

4. Supplementary examination and consultation with team members

If discrepancies arise during the examination, the therapist or doctor will consult the client’s condition with other specialists within the clinic; sometimes a physiotherapist will sit in on an orthopaedic examination, and conversely a physiotherapist may call in a doctor, another physiotherapist or a trainer. We also offer supplementary examinations, such as detailed foot diagnostics, video movement analysis, examination with the ERI device, ultrasound examination, or testing using Redcord®. The examination lasts approximately 60 minutes, and with a supplementary examination a further 60 minutes are sometimes required. If necessary, the therapist or doctor will refer the patient for an X-ray or MRI scan. After taking the medical history, completing the objective specialist examination and any supplementary examination, the therapist has a clear picture of the client’s diagnosis and the subsequent course of therapy.

5. Explaining the condition to the client

The final stage of the examination is a detailed explanation of your current condition. It matters to us that you understand what is wrong. Why you are in pain, where the pain originates from, and most importantly, why the therapist has chosen a particular treatment. The therapist or doctor uses various aids such as models of joints or the spine, imaging technology and modern digital programmes. This is also the moment for your questions, which the therapist or doctor will be happy to answer.

6. Treatment recommendations

Finally, we will propose a rehabilitation plan, present the individual treatment procedures, their benefits and the options available. We will also let you know the expected timeline and the financial commitment involved. You will be introduced to our BONUS SYSTEM, which offers our clients benefits and discounts.

7. Treatment options

The intensive form of treatment is highly individual. It depends very much on the cooperation of the patient themselves. The patient visits the therapist a maximum of three times a week, but at least twice a week. They undergo all related supplementary examinations so that the treatment is as effective and therefore as short as possible. The length of treatment depends on the patient’s condition, the choice of treatment and the mutual cooperation between therapist and client. This form is more financially demanding, but on the other hand it is effective and quick. With the intensive form the patient does not need to exercise at home, so the therapist does not include home exercises as part of the therapy. The therapist selects treatments that can only be carried out under their supervision at the clinic.

The extensive form of treatment is also individual, but less frequent. The patient visits the clinic a maximum of twice a week, but ideally once a week. The therapist works mainly on ensuring that the patient exercises correctly at home. They prepare exercises which the patient performs on their own, and part of the therapy is dedicated to correcting those exercises. The desired effect of therapy comes later, but the treatment is much less financially demanding. The choice of therapy is, of course, discussed with the patient. Sometimes the intensive form transitions into the extensive form, the so-called “maintenance form”, where the patient no longer has a problem but wishes to remain under the supervision of a specialist.

8. The results of treatment

After completing the chosen treatment, you will leave FYZIO KLINIK free of pain, with correct movement patterns and with the correct engagement of your muscles in whichever sport you enjoy. We do not want to treat you, we want to cure you, and so, despite the good relationships we build, we are happy to say goodbye.
